I.          He Found A Man. (Jn. 1:40-42)

A.  Personal soul winner. (I Pet. 3:15)

1.  Where did he bring him: “Where” Jesus dwelt. (Jn. 1:42; 1:38)

2.  When did he seek him: “First”. (Jn. 1:44) Family.

A.  The classes contrasted.

1.  The 10 (disciples): Skeptics. (Mt. 14:15-17)

2.  The 1 (Philip): Treasury. (Jn. 6:7) Calculator (Jn. 12:6)

3.  The 1 (Andrew): Seeker. (Jn. 6:9)

B.  This class considered. (Jn. 6:9) Leave it to the pastor to lead. God will tell him, not you.

1.  Seeking a supply: Found a boy.

2.  Saw a miracle: Fed 5,000 men. (Jn. 6:10)

 

·    His witness (search) resulted in 5,000 fed. (Physical).

 

III.        He Found A Way. (Jn. 12:20-24)

A.  Sinners in search: Greeks. (Rom. 1:16-17)

1.  The searching Greeks: Religious. Passover. (Jn. 12:1,20)

2.  The soul-seeking Jew: Philip. Tradition has it, one of these Greeks was Luke.

B.  Soul-winner in search: Two. (Isa. 50:4; 62:6; Eccl. 11:6)

1.  Philip came to Andrew: Knew where to get info.

2.  Andrew came to Jesus. (Jn. 12:24) Knew where to go.

 

·    His witness resulted in 4 books written for 1,900 years. (Mentally)
