Dr. Bob Sensat

Dr. Bob Sensat (1933-1992). Dr. Sensat was the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Jennings, La. when he went on to meet the Lord. He was known as husband, father, friend, pastor, teacher, a preacher's preacher and a man of God. As you read the sermon outlines and hear the messages you will soon see the passion he had for reaching the lost, prayer and studying God's Word.

Everybody a Christian

 

Scripture: Ephesians 2:1-10

 

Intro: There are at least three things if people could get they would all be saved and in God’s service.

1.      People are incurable religious. (Jas. 1:26)

2.      Powerless in godliness. (II Tim. 3:5,7)

         

I.                  Regeneration Without Repentance (Tit. 3:5)

A. The true elements in conversion

1.      The scriptures: preaching. (Heb. 4:12; Acts 4:12; I Pet. 1:23)

2.      The Spirit: power. (I Cor. 2:4)

B. These elements are compromised. (Mt. 7:23-23; Lk. 9:62)

1.      Repent or perish. (Lk. 13:3,5; Mt. 25:41)

a)     reformed sinners: hope so. (Tit. 3:5; Ro. 4:5)

b)     informed sinners: think so.

2.      Regeneration or perish. (Jn. 3:3,5,7)

a)     come to Him. (Mt. 11:28; Jn. 6:37)

b)     come and drink. (Rev. 22:17; Jn. 4:13-14)

II.               Christianity Without Church Membership (Acts 2:41)

A.     The N.T. Church = His Body. (Mt. 16:18; I Cor. 12:13)

1.      Local = Visible manifestation (Invisible God manifested) (Acts. 2:41,42,47)  Place to fellowship, pray, souls blessed, turn from cares of world.

2.      Vocal = Loyal members (Visibly obeying God) Know mind and will of God, truth, etc.

B.     The N.T. Christian = His Belief (Book). (Acts 5:32)

1.      Faithfulness = Commitment. (II Tim. 2:1-4; Eccl. 12:13-14)

2.      Fruitfulness = Commission. (Pr. 11:30; I Pet. 3:15)

a)     testimony to sinners. (II Cor. 3:2; Ro. 9:1-3)

b)     testimony to service. (Lk. 17:10) (Power without prayer. Learn without labor. Truth without toil)

 

III.           Worship Without Works (Jn. 4:24; Mt. 4:10)

A.     Worship and service = Inseparable. (Lk. 4:8)

1.      Sacrifice (Ro. 12:1) = Act of worship. Being. (Ro. 6:13)

2.      Service (Ro. 12:1) = Acts of work. Doing. (Ro. 6:13)

B.     Worship and servant = Unstoppable. (Tit. 3:8,14)

1.      Idle = Fail to obey. (I Tim. 5:13; Ro. 12:11)

2.      Ideal = Faithful to obey. (I Thes. 4:11; Jn. 15:16)

a)     obey not. (II Thes. 1:8; 3:14; I Pet. 4:17)

obey Him. (Acts 5:32; II Cor. 5:17)
