Intro: The scripture reveals a sobering and staggering meeting with the Lord that none of us shall evade, but we will all have this confrontation together and at the same time. (I Cor. 3:10-16)

Consider: Are you a good, fair, poor, great Christian? Which do you want to be? The only person God can’t help is one satisfied with the way he is. (Improve – Reprove)

 

I.                  The Golden Servant: Fight. (I Cor. 3:10-12; II Tim. 4:6-8)

A.     Sacrificial service. (I Cor. 9:24-27)

1.      Speaks of personal matters: Suffering separation. (Lk. 9:23)

2.      Service of prayer – study. (Acts 6:4; Ro. 12:1-2) Give up to most important roles.

B.     Self is in view. (Ro. 6:13)

1.      Body in controlled service: Make it go when it refuses. (Gal. 5:16-18)

2.      Believer at church: Give – Praise. (Heb. 13:15-16; Ps. 50:23)

a.      Perfect will of God: Gold.

b.      Permissive will of God: Wood.

PRIVATE

 

II.               The Silver Saint: Faith (II Tim. 4:6-7)

A.     Spiritual service. (I Pet. 1:18)

1.      Strong conviction about the blood: Redemptive. (Heb. 9:22; Eph. 1:17)

2.      Solid commitment to its proclamation. Remission.

B.     Scripture’s truths. (II Tim. 3:16-17)

1.      Faith: Personal ingredient. (Eph. 2:8-9)

2.      The faith: Programmed truth. (Jd. 3; II Tim. 2:15; Rev. 1:3)

a.      Preserve: Practice – By life. (II Tim. 1:14)

b.      Proclaim: Promote – By lip. (II Tim. 4:2)

1)     Holy = Faithful

2)     Hay = Forgetful. (Heb. 2:2-3)

PUBLIC

  

III.           The Stone Servant: Finished. (II Tim. 4:7; I Cor. 3:12)

A.     Steadfast service. (I Cor. 6:19-20; Phil. 3:13-14)

1.      Various acts of service: Course – Involves life. (Phil. 2:16)

2.      Victorious acts of service: Cause – Includes time. (I Cor. 15:58)

a.      Mud when arranged to highest laws of nature can become sapphire.

b.      Sand when arranged to highest laws of nature can become opal or pearl.

c.      Coal when arranged to highest laws of nature can become diamond.

B.     Sure lasting service. (Jas. 1:12)

1.      Stones are identified.

a.      Witness. (I Pet. 3:15)

b.      Work. (Eccl. 11:6)
