Scripture: Esther 4:14

 

Intro: There will come a time when you will be presented an opportunity to make your greatest and best contribution of service to the Lord for which you will best be remembered. You can blow it or go to it but it will develop from a life faithfulness to the Lord.

      2. Enoch: Walk. Heb. 11:5                                       7. Jonah: Whale

      3. Noah: Ark. Heb. 11:6                                            8. Jabez: Praying

      4. Job: Suffering. Jas. 5:11                                      9. Joshua: Jericho walls

      5. Nehemiah: Wall builder

 

 

I.             THE TIME OF ESTHER. Esther 4:14

A.     She was faithful until life's end but this is her story, but not all of her life.

1.      History records this: stepson who befriended Ezra and Neh.

2.      Her story is recorded in scripture.

B.     She is best remembered for her deliverance.

1.      The wicked human sought to exterminate them. Isa. 54:17

2.      The wonder queen saved them by putting her life on the line: Purim

 

II.            THE TIME OF THE LAD. John 6:9

A.     He had a lunch: Five barley loaves, two small fishes.

1.      He was unnoticed except by Andrew

2.      He was unselfish and shared it

B.     He gave to the Lord: twelve baskets returned. Lk. 6:38

1.      His name: just a lad

2.      His time: helped thousands 

 

III.           THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE. Esther 4:14.

A.     Some historical figures.

1.     Susanna Wesley: John and Charles

2.     Edward Kimble: Dwight L Moody

3.    Patrick Henry: "Give me liberty or give me death"

B.     Some hearty faithful. 1 Cor. 4:2

1.      Who do you best remember? Hyles (soul-winning); Rice (sword); Porter (God's simple plan of salvation); Bob Jones (BJU); R.G. Lee (Payday some day)

2.      What will you be remembered for? (Your time has come) Doubting Thomas, traitor, Judas OR Faithful, praying person, Bible student, generous, etc.
